Mission Statement
The Law Enforcement Intelligence Unit Foundation is a non profit institution, designed to seek funding to support the law enforcement community involved in the professional and ethical Criminal Intelligence processes.
Purpose
The Board of Directors of the Law Enforcement Intelligence Unit founded the LEIU Foundation in 2002. It's purpose is to provide funding for the support of member agencies engaged in criminal intelligence activities and combating organized crime and terrorist organizations.
The LEIU Foundation provides administration support and an avenue for the public, business and individuals to make contributions to benefit LEIU member agencies. LEIU Foundation funding is designed to supplement, not supplant funding provided by government agencies for police services or equipment for the various LEIU member agencies.
Values
The LEIU Foundation supports the proper use of Criminal Intelligence information to:
- Enhance Community Policing efforts
- Enhance public safety
- Focus resources on law enforcement priorities
Focus
Citizens and corporations are productive when public safety is enhanced. The LEIU Foundation will provide training and technology to LEIU member police departments and other law enforcement and prosecutorial agencies throughout the world to ensure public safety.
Proactive activities will include
- Identify individuals and organizations interested in becoming benefactors
- Establish strategic partnerships with individuals and organizations with a common mission and values
- Solicit grant and foundation funding
- Solicit donations to further the good works of the LEIU
The LEIU Foundation is a non profit public benefit corporation - within meaning of Section 501 (C) (3) of the IRS Revenue Code
